Private and independent schools in Washington
Alongside the public system, Washington has 664 private schools teaching 102,771 students, averaging 155 pupils each. 253 of them have fewer than 50 students. 106 are Catholic. These buy differently from districts: no sealed-bid statute, no board warrant cycle, and a business manager who can agree a scope in a fortnight.
